![]() ![]() The school now offers both boy’s and girl’s soccer.Ĭoach Mang’s first varsity head coaching job was at Northwestern Lehigh High School, which lasted four seasons. He spent many hours and worked with both community members and school district administrators helping to create the first varsity soccer program in school history. Prior to coaching with the Mules, coach Mang was the head boy’s varsity soccer coach at Northern Lehigh High School for one season. ![]() He has also helped to develop one all-region player and 14 all-conference players. During his last seven seasons at Muhlenberg College, he has helped coach the women to one NCAA Tournament appearance and two Centennial Conference Tournament appearances. He comes to Parkland from Muhlenberg College where he is currently serving as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program. Scott Mang is entering his first season as an assistant coach with Parkland High School. Patrick and his wife have two children both students in the Parkland School District. Coach Birns also serves as the Director of Coaching for Parkland Area Soccer Club. He is also currently the secretary of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Coaches’ Advisory and Soccer Steering committees. in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University where he played on the varsity soccer team.Ĭoach Birns holds various advanced soccer coaching certificates: National “B” License, Advanced National License from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Goalkeeper Level II from NSCAA.Ĭoach Birns is the current Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Committee Chairperson for the Ethics and Statistics committees. Patrick has taught and coached at numerous camps and clinics, both in the United States and abroad.Ĭurrently, Coach Birns is a Wellness and Fitness teacher in the East Penn School District. While at Delaware Valley, Coach Birns compiled a record of 100-70-14 and won the 2005 Class AAA District 2 championship. He was also the director and owner of Tri-State Soccer Academy. Prior to coming to the valley, Coach Birns spent nine successful years as head soccer coach at Delaware Valley High School in Milford, PA. He has also served as an evaluator for selection of the Pocono Snow National Professional Soccer League team. Since relocated from Pike County to the Lehigh Valley in 2008, Coach Birns has trained both boys and girls teams for Lehigh Valley United, Parkland Area Soccer Club, Western Lehigh United Soccer Club and Lower Macungie Youth Association. Patrick won LVC Coach of the Year in 2011 and in 2013. The first championship came in 2011 with a LVC win and then again in 2013 with both the LVC and District 11 Championship. While at Parkland since 2011, Coach Birns has produced three championships. Besides being a coach, Patrick has been a Health and Physical Education teacher for 18 years.
